🌅 🎉 Zora Festival Leveled Up
☀️🌱 PLUS: A museum is on the way, crepes are calling, and $10 Thai lunch might be the move.

Good Afternoon, Sunland
It’s Tuesday! Thank you for being here! Let’s jump right in!
🥞 Want to Try: That Crepe Place ribbon cutting this week. Confession, I’ve never had a crêpe before. I know, I know… 😭
Talking with Head of Sunland Image J’Qwan, he mentioned that crêpes are kind of like thin pancakes! Let me know if this is accurate!

🍋 The Main Squeeze: Zora’s Legacy Is Growing

This past weekend, I pulled up to the Zora Neale Hurston Experience Festival—and let me just say, it’s leveling up.
Put on by the Zora Neale Hurston Florida Education Foundation, the festival was packed with live music, storytellers, local authors, food vendors, and even a few reps from the D9. Word on the street is, last year it was held in just a small corner on 9th Street. This year? That same corner was just one piece of a much bigger footprint.
🎶 Musical guests like Muffy Charles & The Sounds of Soul set the tone, while families gathered to celebrate Zora’s legacy and enjoy a good time. You love to see it.
💬 Why It Matters: For a long time, Zora’s presence in Fort Pierce wasn’t properly acknowledged. She passed here, worked here, and shaped culture from here—and now that legacy is finally being celebrated out loud.
🖼️ What’s next? A museum is in the works. The foundation has secured $500,000 in state funding to turn the old Agape Senior Recreation Center into a dedicated Zora Neale Hurston Museum. The centerpiece? A recreation of her final room, left untouched.

🥢 The Refill: $10 Thai Lunch at Khob Khun II? Say Less.

Ever since I launched 772Eats.com, I’ve been using it myself to test what’s actually out there—and this week, I stopped by a spot I’ve had my eye on for a while.
📍 Where I went: Khob Khun II Thai & Sushi, right on Avenue A in downtown Fort Pierce. I’ve walked past it before—the bold colors on the building always caught my attention. So I finally pulled up.
🍛 What I ordered: I went for the beef stir-fry lunch special, swapped the rice for broccoli (you already know), and it came packed with tomato, cucumber, scallions, carrots, pineapple, and onions. Miso soup on the side—hot, salty, and a solid start.
💸 The price? Kinda unreal. My bill was $9.95. I had to do a double take. Left a generous tip because when’s the last time you got lunch for ten bucks and left full?
🚉 The vibe: It was chill inside, but that calm shook a bit when the train rolled by—literally. The place sits right by the tracks, so the whole seat vibrated for a second. Not mad at it.
💬 Final word: If you want good Thai without blowing your budget, this one’s worth a visit. It’s quiet, tucked in, and won’t empty your wallet.
