I had such a hard time coming up with what to say here, so I ended up just saying thank you all the time, which I genuinely mean. As reported by TC Palm, Treasure Coast International Airport received its federal license for commercial service in 2024 and negotiations with at least one carrier are actively underway 🛫.

What the airport has ready:

What is happening on the airline front: County officials attended the Airports Council International-North America Jumpstart Conference in Chicago in June, a speed dating style event where airports get 20 minute one on one meetings with airline route planners. They came back with at least one positive conversation with a carrier they are not yet naming. A consultant has also been hired to help close a deal.

The Vero Beach comparison: Vero Beach Regional Airport, about 15 miles north, already has three airlines. Breeze in 2023, JetBlue in 2025 and American Airlines earlier this year. County officials say that proves airlines are interested in smaller regional airports. Commissioner Townsend put it plainly: "Vero Beach has got it together. We started before them and have more land. We have not been aggressive enough."

What's next: Renovations wrap up this fall. Negotiations with at least one carrier are ongoing 📅.

🏗️ Three Corners Project Gets Second 30-Day Extension

Vero Beach's Three Corners waterfront project is getting another 30-day extension as the city and developer continue negotiating ground lease terms. This is the second 30-day extension approved since negotiations began in March. The estimated $250 million redevelopment of the former Big Blue power plant site would include hotels, restaurants, shops, housing and a marina. City officials said construction could still be another year away.

🔊 Fort Pierce Reworking Noise Ordinance After 1,954 Complaints

Fort Pierce received nearly 2,000 noise complaints between April 2025 and April 2026, prompting city staff to propose ordinance changes. Recommendations include standardizing quiet hours to 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, adding severe violation waivers, creating chronic violator designations and imposing daily penalties up to $500. Most complaints came on weekend evenings.

🚂 Cocoa Wins $57 Million Brightline Grant, Martin County Left Empty-Handed

Cocoa in Brevard County was awarded $57 million in federal funding for a Brightline station while Martin County's $70 million grant application was denied. Martin County has until June 30 to secure federal funding or Brightline can abandon the Stuart station deal. A lack of unified local support hurt Martin County's application while Cocoa had unanimous backing, according to federal officials.
