It’s Tuesday—just 9 days until Thanksgiving! I’m not sure where the time is going. Before we know it, Christmas (2025 Christmas!) will be here. My dad still hasn’t put up his lights yet, which got me thinking: when do most people start decorating for the holidays? I’ve already spotted lightbulb reindeer and attic Santas popping up on front lawns.

🦈 Ate Local: McManus Seafood… This is the definition of a “whole in the wall” No website, No Instagram, or anything like that. Just really good food. And at a great price. If you want breakfast, it’s defintly worth trying.

Rise of a Warrior, Saint Lucie’s MMA Promotion

So, confession: I’m a huge MMA fan. I train Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai, which is why I’m a little disappointed in myself for just now learning about our local MMA promotion: Rise of a Warrior.

This Saturday, November 23, they’re hosting a monster 36-fight card in Fort Pierce, the grand finale of 2024, and it’s shaping up to be the Super Bowl of Florida MMA (their words). What makes this event even bigger? It’s a collaboration with Combat Night, another big name in Florida’s MMA scene. If you’re even remotely into the sport—or just looking for an electrifying night out—this is where you want to be.

The backstory: Rise of a Warrior has been around for just a few years, but their YouTube channel (filled with fight highlights) dates back over a decade. They’ve grown into a regional powerhouse, showcasing professional and amateur fighters and giving athletes a platform to shine.

Their events bring high-energy crowds, intense matchups, and a sense of community. For fighters, it’s more than just stepping into the cage—it’s about earning respect and carving a path forward.

Why it matters: Local promotions like this don’t just provide entertainment. They’re essential for building the next generation of fighters. This is where future pros get their start, and for fans, it’s a front-row seat to raw talent before they hit the big leagues.
