🌅🌊 PSL’s new riverfront walk is open

It’s Friday! So much has been changing in Florida lately. About a month ago I did a video on some of the new laws taking effect. You can check it out here.

Another change I just ran across is big for businesses. Starting October 1, there will be no more sales tax on commercial rent. If you lease a building for your business, you could be saving a few bucks come October. Alright…

TLDR: The boardwalk at The Port District is complete. It runs about 4,300 feet from Rivergate Park to the preservation tract, and you can hop on from Veteran’s Memorial Park or The Event Lawn. The last piece under the PSL Boulevard bridge went in June 25, and it opened to everyone on August 8.

Just The Start: This is the beginning of the beginning. The city raised the walk to about six feet above the high tide line, fixed Milton damage, and tied the whole river edge together. That helps storm durability, and the steadier shade should help the seagrass along the shoreline.

I have shot photos down there. It is an easy yes for golden hour, reflections, and long looks down the river. I am adding it to my top five PSL photo spots, and I will share that list soon. It is also a clean date spot, a night stroll spot, and a place to clear your head after work.

The boardwalk connects to what is already moving, River Nights is active, a park is in place, and the first restaurants are coming, Salt River with a rooftop, Italian Disco, Kannon, The Grove Bar, and Tequi Bar. Give this a little more time, and it becomes a beacon for the county.

No one is more excited than me for this.. Okay maybe someone. Starting Dec. 11, JetBlue will fly daily year-round from Vero Beach to New York’s JFK and Boston Logan. Intro fares start at $69 (Count me in) if booked by Aug. 17. The move follows surging demand, with passenger traffic at the airport more than doubling last year.

St. Lucie County approved a conditional use permit for Orange Avenue Growers Market, the first farmers market allowed on agricultural land under new zoning rules. It will sit on 8.5 acres off Orange Avenue with space for vendors, parking, and stormwater facilities. I will be in attendance!
