🟠 Main Squeeze: Port St. Lucie Police opens a $30 million training facility

Port St. Lucie cut the ribbon Thursday on its new Police Training Facility, a $30 million, 54,000 square foot building that has been under construction since July 2024 🚔.
The building spans three floors of office space and was designed to handle a wide range of training scenarios from firearms to hands on defensive tactics.
Here is what is inside:
🎯 An indoor firing range that accommodates rifles, pistols and shotguns
🥋 A dedicated defensive tactics training room
🏠 A tactical shoot house with movable walls and partitions so officers can train in realistic building scenarios
🏢 Three floors of office space
🎓 A 64 seat conference room for classroom style instruction

🏘️ Sebastian Proposes 900-Home Age-Restricted Housing Community
Kolter Homes plans to develop Cresswind into a 55+ community where at least one resident of each home must be 55 or older. The development would include an amenity center built on 8.29 acres and about 83 acres of lakes and trails. The project would be completed in five phases. Kolter Homes would extend utility infrastructure and implement road improvements outside the community, city staff said.

🏠 Treasure Coast Single-Family Home Prices on the Rise
Indian River County has seen an increase of 1.8%, with a median sales price of $400,000.
Martin County median home sale prices are up 1.1% since 2025, sitting at $655,000.
St. Lucie County is seeing the highest increase in the region, up 2.3% since June 2025 with a median sale price of $399,000.

💰 Port St. Lucie Proposes Higher Developer Fees
Port St. Lucie is increasing many existing fees while establishing new charges for services that currently have no associated fee, including construction plan reviews, engineering inspections, site plan reviews, right-of-way permits, accessory use reviews and occupancy reviews. City officials say many fees charged for development-related services have not been updated in more than a decade. As costs increased, fees no longer cover providing those services, leaving residents to make up the difference.
