Good Morning, Sunland

It's Tuesday! I hope everyone is safe today. Gov. DeSantis declared a state of emergency Monday for Indian River, Martin, and St. Lucie counties because of flooding across the Treasure Coast. You can read the full details here. The order also lets supervisors of elections change polling-place arrangements if they can’t fully meet the usual requirements. I haven’t heard whether Election Day will be changed here, and I’ve reached out to the Supervisor of Elections to find out. If your polling location has changed, check with the county’s Supervisor of Elections here before you head out.

🟠 Main Squeeze: Some St. Lucie County polling places have moved today because of flooding

If you’re heading out to vote today, double check where you’re voting first. Flooding from the weather has cut off road access to several polling locations, so St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections Gertrude Walker announced that a number of precincts have been temporarily relocated for the November 3rd General Election.

Staff are at each affected location checking whether it’s usable, and the Supervisor of Elections says the list will keep getting updated through the evening, so the official page is the place to look before you leave the house.

Fort Pierce

  • Precinct 12, normally the Fort Pierce Masonic Lodge, is now voting at the Days Inn Midtown (precinct 25), 3224 S US Hwy 1.

  • Precincts 6 and 28, normally the Renaissance Business Park (formerly Orange Blossom Business Center), are now voting at the Havert L. Fenn Center, 2000 Virginia Ave. The Paula Lewis Library will be open as well.

Port St. Lucie

  • Precincts 49 and 71, normally Oak Hammock K8 School, are now voting at the Port St. Lucie Community Center, 2195 SE Airoso Blvd, with access from Airoso Blvd.

  • Precinct 51, normally the Disabled American Veterans Hall, is also voting at the Port St. Lucie Community Center (precinct 45), 2195 SE Airoso Blvd.

  • Precincts 67 and 86, normally St. Lucie West Centennial High School, are now voting at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center, 9221 SE Event Center Place.

  • Precincts 85 and 95, normally the Indian River State College Veterans Center of Excellence, are also voting at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center, 9221 SE Event Center Place.

  • Precinct 92, normally The Brennity at Tradition, is now voting at Tradition Town Hall, 10799 SW Civic Ln.

If you’re not sure which precinct is yours, or you have questions about anything election related, you can call the Supervisor of Elections office at (772) 462-1500 or head to stlucievotes.gov.

If now someone who usually votes at one of these spots send this their way!
