🌅 🏎️ $174K Race Track Coming to PSL—Will It Work?

☀️🌱 PLUS: Spring training is back, IRSC’s theater season continues, and PSL’s newest business openings!

Good Morning, Sunland

It’s Monday! So last night, I was headed home from Fort Pierce, coming down King’s Highway, and—like always—the Turnpike was closed. No warning, no heads-up, just me realizing way too late that I had to reroute. And this always happens to me. I guess they’re doing construction or whatever, but I was just like, man, there’s gotta be a better way to know when this stuff is going down.

So I did some digging. Turns out, there’s actually a county page that lists all the roadwork happening around here. I had no idea, but now that I do, I’m definitely keeping it handy. If you’ve ever been in a situation like me—stuck, confused, and wondering why didn’t I know about this?—now you’ve got a way to check before you hit the road.

🍋 The Main Squeeze: A Private Motorsports Playground is Coming to St. Lucie County

The gist: A 650-acre private motorsports community is set to open in St. Lucie County in 2026, featuring race tracks, high-end garages, and exclusive residences. But with memberships starting at $174,000, the big question is—will this work?

What’s happening: P1 Motor Club, an invitation-only motorsports community, is breaking ground in March near Okeechobee Road and Summerlin Road. The development will include: a 4.5-mile racetrack, a second 3.2-mile track, 125 luxury residences, high-end car storage, and resort-style amenities.

Why it matters: This project brings an ultra-exclusive motorsports destination to the Treasure Coast—something usually seen in places like Palm Beach or Miami. But at $174,000 just to get in the door, it’s clearly not for your average car enthusiast.

What’s next: The first phase opens in early 2026, with track access for members. Residences and private garages will follow later that year, and the clubhouse is expected by the end of 2026.

Will this work: I’m not going to lie—motorsports isn’t my world, but at a $174,000 membership cost, I have questions. On one hand, places like Sebring, Daytona, and Miami have tracks, and it’s clearly a big deal. On the other… will this actually work here?

💭 What do you think? Is there enough demand for a high-end racing club in St. Lucie, or is this a long shot? Drop your thoughts here!

📸 This is Sunland: Bookstores Road Trip!

I went to one of the very few Black-owned bookstores in Florida over the weekend—The Black English Bookstore in Tampa. And , it was an incredible experience.

From the curation to the layout to the overall vibe, everything about the store was intentional and inspiring. I originally went to soak up inspiration for the Sunland Bookstore, but the one thing I walked away with?

I’ve got work to do. See you tomorrow!
With Love, Ja’Min
