Welcome to Sunland News!

Quick newsletter today, as I know everyone is busy preparing for the storm. I wanted to provide some more helpful tips and updates since there have been a few questions about trash pickups, available resources, emergency updates, etc. I’ve listed some information below.

🚛 Trash & Recycling Update: Storm Precautions in Place 🌪️

Due to Hurricane Milton, the St. Lucie County landfill will be closed Thursday, Oct. 10, and all garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste pickup will be suspended to ensure safety for both FCC drivers and residents.

Adjustments to Pickup Schedule:

  • Thursday’s collection will be moved to Friday, Oct. 11.

  • Friday’s collection will be moved to Saturday, Oct. 12.

Please do not put out trash or yard waste on Thursday.

🚌 Transit Service Suspended Due to Hurricane Milton 🌪️

In preparation for Hurricane Milton, St. Lucie County’s Area Regional Transit (ART) will suspend all fixed routes and on-demand services starting at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and will remain closed through Thursday, Oct. 10. The service plans to reopen on Friday morning, weather permitting.

Additionally, Port St. Lucie Express, which provides transportation from the Job Express Terminal on Gatlin Boulevard to West Palm Beach, will also suspend services on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10.
