πŸ“˜ Main Squeeze: Fort Pierce Unveils Marina Square Park Plans, But Vendors Still Don't Know Where They're Going

Tell Me Something Good: Fort Pierce just dropped fancy renderings for a 5.9-acre Marina Square park with all the bells and whistles, but the 100+ farmers market vendors who've been there for decades still have no clue where they'll operate during construction.

Everything I Need: The new park design has everything the community asked for: open lawns for picnics, a plaza for weekend markets and music, dog park, splash pad, playground, and a riverfront promenade connecting downtown to the Indian River. The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency says this reflects "YOUR voice" and promises a space that's "flexible, multigenerational, and full of life."

The renderings looks great! The park could genuinely transform downtown Fort Pierce into the kind of place where families want to spend weekends and visitors want to linger.

I Wanna Know: Here's where things get messy. At last week's city commission meeting, vendor Annie Crumbo stood up asking the question everyone's been wondering: "Where are we going to go?"

Crumbo represents about 100 vendors at the Saturday morning farmers market. Some have been there over 25 years. For many, this is their entire income. She's been trying to get answers since June but keeps hitting dead ends.

Come and Talk to Me: The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency released conceptual designs for Marina Square park this week. Vendor Annie Crumbo spoke at the city commission meeting asking where the farmers market will relocate during construction. Commissioners directed her to contact the city manager's office for information.

Bottom line: Fort Pierce unveiled its Marina Square park plans while farmers market vendors wait for relocation details. Construction timeline and temporary vendor arrangements haven't been announced yet.
