I was browsing Reddit and Facebook, trying to gather what people have been talking about around the county, and stumbled upon a post where someone mentioned that the problem with PSL is that we don’t have a downtown. This got me thinking—do other people feel this way? Do people not consider Tradition or Saint Lucie West as our downtown? I'm curious to hear what you all think!

📰 Florida School Grades Are In!
The Florida Department of Education has released the district grade for Saint Lucie County, awarding it a B. Notably, this is the first time in a long while that no school in the Saint Lucie County District received a D or F. The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) was used to determine these grades. This year, students in grades 3 through 10 participated in the assessment. Progress monitoring tracked students' learning progress throughout the year.
FAST was implemented in 2022, and learning gains could only be effectively tracked until now. This year, learning gains were included, providing a more comprehensive assessment.
This achievement is something our area should be proud of. We must continue to support and uphold this standard in the future. [see more]

📰 PSL Ranks in Top 100 Fittest Cities
Port Saint Lucie has been ranked 99th in the Top 100 fittest cities across the country, according to the American College of Sports Medicine. While it’s unclear how many cities and communities were evaluated, being 99th out of thousands is quite an achievement.
Though walkability in certain residential areas is still being developed, the city offers some great nature walks, and more and more residents are taking advantage of them. As the city grows, hopefully so will the opportunities for walking and staying active.
