It's Monday! And vacation is so hard for me! It's so hard for me to put things down, and simply let them be! At the same time, just in this short "break" I've accumulated and learned so much by being able to slow down, learn, and observe. I'm currently in the MEDIA capital of the world (NYC), and I think being here is bare minimum inspiring but most certainly a masterclass in getting your message out. When you are bombarded with 1,000 of ads, headlines, and news stories a day just walking down the street, you really start to understand the things that stick out to you! I'm hoping to bring some of these lessons back home and use them to further Sunland in the way it ought to go! Alright…

✈️ JetBlue Ending Vero Beach to JFK Route in September
JetBlue is canceling its route between Vero Beach Regional Airport and New York's JFK Airport, with last flights on September 9 due to low demand. The route launched last December but didn't see expected ridership. Passengers can still travel to the New York area via Breeze Airways, which operates service from Vero Beach to Trenton, New Jersey. The Boston Logan route remains unaffected and is performing well. JetBlue will continuously evaluate the route, leaving the door open for future reinstatement. All affected customers will receive full refunds.

🍽️ Cobb's Landing Gets Month-to-Month Lease Extension
Fort Pierce City Commission is expected to approve extending a temporary month-to-month lease for Cobb's Landing at 200 North Indian River Drive. The five-year lease ended June 30 and a new competitive request for proposals hasn't been issued yet. This is the third city-owned eatery in recent years needing special accommodations. The same operator manages Little Jim Bait and Tackle, which has been on a month-to-month lease over a year after bidding complications. Commissioner Arnold Gaines wants the process resolved by year-end.

🚒 Fire Station 19 Opens in Fort Pierce
St. Lucie County Fire District officials celebrated the opening of Fire Station 19 on July 15 with a ribbon-cutting and apparatus push-in ceremony. Located at 7570 Pruitt Research Road in Fort Pierce, the new station strengthens emergency response in the county's growing northwestern commercial corridor while improving access to Interstate 95 and Florida's Turnpike. The facility was designed by Wannemacher Jensen Architects and built by Remnant Construction. Community members toured the station and met firefighters.
