ā˜€ļøšŸŒ± PLUS: A football family launches a business, plus $2 fair night & music events!

Good Afternoon, Sunland

Itā€™s Tuesday! Iā€™ve been playing with the idea of doing a podcast as a companion to this newsletter. It would just be once, maybe twice a week, but think of it as a quick 10 - 20 minute catch up of whatā€™s going on. Would definately love to hear your thoughts on this ideaā€¦ Alright. Letā€™s jump straight in!

Poll Question: Would you listen to a Sunland Podcast?

šŸ† The Pittman Boys: More Than Just Athletesā€”Theyā€™re Building a Brand

TL;DR: Four brothers. One brand. A vision beyond football. The Pittman Boysā€”a tight-knit group of athletes from John Carroll High Schoolā€”are launching their Pippinā€™ Boys clothing line this Saturday. What started as their fatherā€™s community work has grown into a full-fledged business with a mission: financial stability, giving back, and building something that lasts.

šŸ’¬ Why It Matters: This isnā€™t just another merch drop. Itā€™s young athletes thinking beyond the game, proving that entrepreneurship and sports can go hand in hand.

šŸ‘• From the Field to Fashion: The Pippinā€™ Boys brand traces back to their fatherā€™s efforts in the communityā€”organizing events for kids and later selling Italian ice. Over time, that evolved into a clothing brand that represents their journey and ambition.

The Name & Colors: The brand name represents their bond as brothers, and their core colorsā€”blue, black, and whiteā€”pay homage to their high school, John Carroll.

Bigger Than Merch: Their goal is to generate $10,000 annuallyā€”ensuring financial security long after their football careers end.

A Community Focus: Beyond making money, they want to give back to younger athletes and inspire kids to think about business at an early age.

šŸˆ Football First, But Not Forever: While their brand is a major focus, football is still the main priority for the Pittman Boys.

Each brother plays a different position, but they all push each other to be better.

Their dream schools include Oregon, Colorado, USF, and Houstonā€”with a strong focus on programs that develop top talent.

Trash talk? A family tradition. One brother admits, ā€œI talk to the other teamā€™s sideline before I even return a kick.ā€

šŸ’” The Business Mindset: When asked whoā€™s the most business-savvy, the brothers couldnā€™t pick just one. Itā€™s clear that entrepreneurship runs in the familyā€”including their little sister, who already runs her own successful lemonade business.

ā€œBest lemonade in the world, if you ask me.ā€

šŸ“… Whatā€™s Next? The Pippinā€™ Boys brand officially launches this Saturday, with merch available for purchase. But this is just the beginning. Whether itā€™s in football, fashion, or business, the Pittman Boys are building something bigger than themselves.

šŸ¹The Refill: šŸŽ” Your Fair Playbook: Whatā€™s Worth Checking Out?

Itā€™s $2 Tuesday at the St. Lucie County Fair! That means $2 admission, $2 rides, and a whole lot of opportunity to dive into the best the fair has to offerā€”without breaking the bank. The fair isnā€™t here forever (only 10 days!), so if youā€™ve been waiting for the right moment to go, consider this your sign.

Rather than running down the full schedule, I figured Iā€™d highlight a few things that caught my eye. Some are cool, some are unexpected, and some are just straight-up funny.

šŸŽÆ Whatā€™s Interesting at the Fair?

  •  Laser Tag at the Fair ā€“ Didnā€™t know this was a thing, but Iā€™m intrigued. Carnival rides + laser tag? Thatā€™s a solid combo.

  • Mobile Arts Glass Blowing ā€“ Watching someone shape molten glass into art is oddly mesmerizing.

  • Steer Auction ā€“ Not in the market for a steer, but if you are, this might be your moment.

  • Small Animal Costume Parade ā€“ This is happening later in the week, but I needed to mention it. Tiny animals. In costumes. Enough said.

šŸŽŸļø The Basics

  • $2 Admission & Rides Today!

  • The fair wraps up this Sunday, so donā€™t wait too long!
