🟠 Main Squeeze: 9 new restaurants opened on the Treasure Coast this month

I do this every month so you always know what is new, what is closing and what is coming soon in your area 🍽️. Here is everything that opened up in August.
New restaurants that opened this month:
🍣 Tokyo Buffet Port St. Lucie — A new all you can eat buffet claiming over 200 items including soups, salads, fresh fruit, meats, seafood, sushi, hibachi, desserts and self serve ice cream.
🍝 Ristorante Chef Luca Corleone Port St. Lucie — A Treasure Coast social media influencer and well known Italian chef opened this authentic Italian fine dining restaurant on August 18th.
🌮 Port Tradition Port St. Lucie — A Mexiterranean fusion restaurant blending Mexican staples with Mediterranean ingredients, bringing Spanish, Greek, Mexican and other international flair to the area.
🌊 Paradise Waterfront Cafe Fort Pierce — A waterfront restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a view of the Indian River Lagoon. Opened August 13th in downtown Fort Pierce.
🥙 Gyro House Port St. Lucie — A Cuban owned Mediterranean restaurant serving gyros, sandwiches, bowls, salads and juices.
🌭 Mac's Restaurant Port St. Lucie — The menu has a black truffle lobster quesadilla, specialty hot dogs, lobster rolls, sandwiches, tacos, loaded fries, crab cakes and build your own burgers.
🍕 Maria's Ristorante Port St. Lucie — A new Italian American restaurant that opened this summer with a menu that proudly highlights Italian American food.
🥗 Field of Greens Port St. Lucie — A Palm Beach County health food restaurant chain opened its first Treasure Coast location in Tradition this month with a second location on the way.
🍜 Mirai Sushi and Thai Port St. Lucie — A Japanese and Thai restaurant serving sushi rolls, sashimi, hibachi, tempura, katsu, noodles, Thai curry and basil rice.

🎓 Indian River Schools Begin Superintendent Search
The Indian River County School Board is preparing to search for a superintendent to replace Dr. David Moore, who steps down June 30, 2027. Board Chair Teri Barenborg wants overlap time between Moore and his successor for a smooth transition. The board may begin the search within the next month, with Moore suggesting February for a candidate offer to allow spring onboarding. Moore recommends considering internal candidates before pursuing a national search.

🏛️ Fort Pierce Evaluates Historic Means Court Building
Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency hired TLC Engineering Solutions to assess the structural needs of the historic Means Court Building in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The 1905 cracker house, a former all-black public school, could require $2 million in repairs including new HVAC, roof replacement and fixing exterior leaks. The building has been closed due to code violations. TLC Engineering will report findings within several months.

🍽️ 11 Maple Street Jensen Beach Closes After 40 Years
The acclaimed 11 Maple Street restaurant in downtown Jensen Beach will serve its final dinner Sept. 26 after 40 years under founding chef-owner Mike Perrin. Irish chef Mark Jones and wife Shayla are taking over, reopening Oct. 8 with the same name and commitment to organic, locally sourced ingredients prepared from scratch. The restaurant in a 1905 Florida cracker house originally opened with just eight tables.
